The upcoming television anime adaptation of Jura's Kanojo no Tomodachi manga has unveiled its main cast, key staff, and a confirmed October premiere window. The series will bring the romantic comedy manga to the screen with Ryūga Nagai taking on the role of Takeru, a high school student navigating a new relationship.

Joining Nagai are Sayahana Hanemurasaki as Takeru's girlfriend Kaori, and Miki Hase as Kaori's friend Tomoko, who begins to actively pursue Takeru. The production is helmed by director Takashi Andō at Studio Quad, with WWWave Corporation's Deregula anime label overseeing the project. Gokō Shiraki is handling scriptwriting and supervision, while Ryūji Iwata is designing the characters and serving as chief animation director alongside Akira Koshiishi, Masayuki Fujita, and Konatsu Kumagai.

Kanojo no Tomodachi, which debuted on Kodansha's YanMaga Web in May 2021, follows Takeru after his first girlfriend, Kaori, confesses her feelings. The situation becomes complicated as Tomoko, Kaori's friend, starts seducing Takeru, presenting a voluptuous temptation. The manga has released six compiled volumes, with the latest published last October.

WWWave Corporation established its Deregula anime label in June 2023 to produce anime adaptations of intellectual properties from other companies. The corporation, founded in 2010, also runs the digital manga platform ComicFesta and its associated imprints, often focusing on mature romance and adult-oriented content, including titles featured in their AnimeFesta programming block.
