Bandai Namco announced during a Nintendo Direct presentation that Tales of Eternia is receiving a remaster. Titled Tales of Eternia Remastered, the game is set for release on October 16 for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A trailer accompanying the announcement featured the theme song "flying" by Garnet Crow.

The remaster will allow players to switch between remastered and original visuals and sound effects. Significant quality-of-life improvements are also included, such as a Boost feature for adjusting experience gain and encounter frequency, toggleable destination icons, a high-speed mode for auto-battle, Battle Retry, and Quick Recovery. Additionally, the game will feature Extreme and Unknown difficulty settings, with the latter unlocked after completion.

Originally debuting on PlayStation in Japan in 2000, the game was released in the West in 2001 under the title Tales of Destiny II. This Western title caused some confusion as it was not directly related to the Tales of Destiny game or its sequel, despite being part of the same franchise. The game previously received a port for the PlayStation Portable and inspired a 13-episode anime adaptation in 2001 produced by Xebec.
