The Digimon franchise is gearing up for a major milestone as it approaches its 30th anniversary. Official channels confirmed that a brand-new anime project is currently in production and slated for a 2027 broadcast, marking the latest expansion in a series that began with the original Digital Monster virtual pets in 1997.
Leading up to this anniversary, Fuji TV is organizing a special retrospective event for long-time viewers. Starting October 4, the network will broadcast a selection of fan-favorite episodes spanning the franchise's first four television series. These episodes were chosen through a global poll, allowing the international community to highlight the most memorable moments from the early years of the Digital World.
This announcement arrives while the franchise's current television installment, DIGIMON BEATBREAK, continues its broadcast run. Having entered its "Kyล Arc" with the 38th episode this past July, the series remains available for international viewers via Crunchyroll, which provides both subtitled and English dubbed versions. With the legacy of series like Digimon Adventure and Digimon Ghost Game behind it, the 2027 project looks to maintain the momentum of one of anime's most enduring monster-taming properties.
