The Television Academy has nominated the short "Black" from the Star Wars: Visions anthology for an Emmy in the Outstanding Animated Program category. The short, produced by david production and directed by Shinya Ōhira, is part of the third volume of the Disney+ series.

"Black" faces stiff competition, going up against episodes from established animated shows including Bob's Burgers, Rick and Morty, The Simpsons, Smiling Friends, and South Park. The winners will be revealed at the 78th annual Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony on September 14.

Star Wars: Visions Volume 3, which premiered on Disney+ on October 29, continues the anthology format with nine new shorts from various Japanese animation studios. This volume notably expands on previous installments, with Kenji Kamiyama developing the storyline from the short "The Ninth Jedi" into a limited series titled Star Wars: Visions Presents - The Ninth Jedi, set to premiere August 8. Kamiyama serves as script supervisor and general director for the new series.

The Star Wars: Visions project first launched in September 2021 with Volume 1, featuring shorts from prominent anime studios like Trigger and Production I.G. Volume 2, released on May 4, 2023, broadened its scope by including studios from around the globe. The franchise also saw Studio Ghibli's hand-drawn short "Zen - Grogu and Dust Bunnies" stream on Disney+ in November 2023.
