Pokémon Horizons is expanding its cast with the addition of Yū Serizawa and Kazuki Ura, who will voice two new characters. Serizawa will portray Navi, a girl hailing from Lumiose City, while Ura takes on the role of Shirō, a powerful and muscular individual who will also appear in the upcoming game Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
These new additions arrive as the anime continues its "Wonder Voyage" arc, which kicked off on May 22. Recent episodes have also featured nods to other Pokémon titles, with the June 19 episode including Toshiya Miyata as a character themed after Pokémon Unite. The series' protagonists, Liko and Roy, voiced by Minori Suzuki and Yuka Terasaki respectively, are performing the new opening theme, "Sekai Tsunagare," produced by HoneyWorks.
Pokémon Horizons has seen a series of evolving arcs since its April 2023 premiere. Following its initial run, the anime introduced the "Terapagos no Kagayaki" arc in October 2023, followed by the "Terastal Debut" arc in April 2024. The current narrative phase, which began in October 2024, incorporates elements and characters from the Pokémon Scarlet/Violet games' Kitakami region and "The Indigo Disk" DLC. The series is directed by Saori Den with Dai Satō serving as series script supervisor.
The anime premiered on Netflix in March 2024, with subsequent seasons, including "The Search for Laqua" and "Rising Hope," also released on the platform. The series follows new protagonists Liko and Roy and features starter Pokémon from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, alongside the Legendary Pokémon Rayquaza in its Shiny form.
