DMM Pictures has confirmed that the television anime adaptation of Ore to Yu Nii! (Me and Older Brother Yu) is set to premiere in January 2027. Along with the window, the studio released a teaser promotional video offering a first look at the series, which adapts Miyuki Nakayama's popular boys-love manga originally launched under Square Enix's Gangan BLiss label.
Directing the production is Noriko Hashimoto, known for her work on the Given films, while Yuniko Ayana is handling series composition. The animation is being produced by Studio Hibari, with character designs by Yumi Kuroiwa. The musical score is a collaboration between Yukari Hashimoto and Ruka Kawada, with production handled by Pony Canyon. The production team also includes art director Hirofune Hane, color designer Saki Tada, and sound director Takeshi Takadera.
The series features Shinnosuke Tokudome in the role of Tsubaki, an elementary schooler navigating his feelings for his high school-aged childhood friend, Yū, voiced by Shūichirō Umeda. The narrative centers on Tsubaki’s determination to grow up quickly to prove his maturity to Yū, who consistently treats him like a child.
Since its 2021 debut, the source material has gained significant recognition, including a win for Best Next Generation (Newcomer) at the 2022 BL Awards hosted by Chil-Chil. With seven volumes currently published by Square Enix, the series has cultivated a dedicated following across various digital platforms, setting a high bar for this upcoming adaptation.
