A Returner's Magic Should Be Special is officially returning to the screen, with the production team confirming an October 2026 premiere for its second season. The announcement arrived alongside the series' first promotional video, offering a glimpse at the continuation of Desir Arman's high-stakes mission to prevent the destruction of his world.

The upcoming season brings a refreshed creative team to the project. Taishi Kawaguchi, known for his work on Kowloon Generic Romance, takes over as director. The production also features a revamped art department, with Daisuke Negishi stepping in as art director, and a new editing lead in Gou Sadamatsu. Returning studio Arvo Animation continues to helm the project, with Takamitsu Kouno overseeing the series composition and script.

This sequel follows the 12-episode first season that concluded in late 2023. Based on the popular manhwa by Yu So-nan and Uk-jakga, the series has carved out a distinct niche in the time-travel fantasy genre. With the production now under the Aniplex banner, the second season aims to build on the foundation of the original web novel, which concluded its run in 2019 after a successful three-year serialization on KakaoPage.
