HIDIVE has secured streaming rights for the television anime adaptation of Kazuto Mihara's The World is Dancing manga, set to premiere during the Summer 2026 season. The streamer released an English-subtitled trailer and visual to accompany the announcement.

The anime will debut in Japan on July 2, 2026, airing on Tokyo MX and KBS Kyoto at 10:00 p.m. JST, followed by Sun TV at midnight. Broadcasts on BS Asahi and TVQ Kyushu will begin on July 3.

Directed by Toshimasa Kuroyanagi at Cygames Pictures, the series features character designs by Keigo Sasaki. The cast includes Yumiri Hanamori as Oniyasha, Shimba Tsuchiya as Ishiya, Maaya Uchida as Kogane, and Romi Park as Zōjirō, among others. Macaroni Empitsu will perform the opening theme song "shusho."

The World is Dancing is set in 1374, during the turbulent Northern and Southern Courts period. It centers on Oniyasha, the son of a sarugaku theater performer, who grapples with the question of why people dance. His life changes after witnessing a dance he deems "good," ultimately leading him to become the legendary Noh performer Zeami.

Mihara's manga ran in Kodansha's Morning magazine from March 2021 to October 2022, concluding with six compiled volumes. Kodansha USA Publishing also released the manga digitally in English.
