86: Eighty-Six has quietly returned to the Crunchyroll library following its sudden disappearance from the platform earlier this spring. The series, which was removed without public explanation between April and May of this year alongside seven other titles, is now available to stream in its entirety, including the English dub.

Produced by A-1 Pictures, the anime adaptation of Asato Asato’s light novel series first premiered in April 2021. The story follows the brutal conflict between the Republic of San Magnolia and the neighboring Empire, focusing on the harrowing experiences of the '86'β€”a group of soldiers forced to fight in the Republic's supposedly non-existent 86th district. The series is widely praised for its emotional depth and tactical combat sequences, anchored by the mechanical designs of I-IV.

While the anime remains a standout in the military sci-fi genre, the source material is approaching its conclusion. Author Asato Asato confirmed in the 13th volume of the light novels that the series had entered its final arc, with Kadokawa releasing the 14th volume in September 2025.
