A live-action film adaptation of Amu Meguro's Midori Loves My Sister manga is officially in the works, with a Japanese release date set for December 4. The film, which will use the English title My Sister's Boyfriend, stars Masaki Hashimoto, a member of the idol group timelesz, as Midori Yukishiro and actress Runa Nakajima as Sui Sanae.

Mahito Kimura, known for directing live-action adaptations like Strobe Edge and the Blue Spring Ride series, is helming the project. The script comes from Nami Kikkawa, who previously worked on the live-action Honey Lemon Soda film. Shochiku is overseeing the production and will distribute the film.

The original manga, launched by Meguro in Shueisha's Bessatsu Margaret magazine in 2022, follows Sui, a junior high student who clashes with her older sister's boyfriend, Midori-kun. Their relationship takes a turn when he becomes her home tutor, revealing a different side to him. The manga's 11th compiled volume was released on April 23.

Amu Meguro is also known for her Honey So Sweet manga, which ran from 2012 to 2015 and also received a live-action film adaptation in 2018. Source: Anime News Network
