The fantasy romance light novel Because I, the True Saint, Was Banished, That Country Is Done For! is confirmed for a television anime adaptation set to premiere in 2027. The project's newly launched website provides a first look at the production with a teaser visual and confirmation of the primary cast and staff.

Masumi Tazawa will take on the lead role of Eliane, starring alongside Taku Yashiro as Nigel. The animation will be produced by Tsumugi Akita Animation Lab, with Tsukasa Sakurai—known for his work as an animation director on Mirai Nikki—leading the project as director. The creative team also includes Naoki Tozuka handling series composition and Naru Nishikori managing character designs.

Shikiso Utsuzawa began the story on the Shousetsuka ni Narou platform in 2020 before Kodansha picked it up for print publication. The franchise has since grown to include a manga adaptation by Mokuba Matsu, which is currently being serialized in English through Kodansha’s K Manga service. With the light novel series reaching 1.5 million copies in circulation, the upcoming 2027 broadcast aims to translate the kingdom's dramatic downfall into a full-scale animation project.
