Wright Film announced that Shiba Inu Rooms (Shiba-tsuki Bukken), the manga series by Esu Omori, will be adapted into a television anime set for a summer 2027 debut. The announcement coincided with the Japanese "Wan Wan Wan Day" on November 1. The production will be directed by Osamu Yamasaki at TMS Entertainment, with character designs by Rio. The voice cast features Niina Nakabayashi as the high school student Kori Momose and Mutsumi Tamura as the Shiba Inu ghost, Mu. The story follows Kori as she discovers her new apartment is haunted by Mu, leading to an unlikely relationship between the two. Viz Media, which holds the English license for the manga, released the first print volume on September 1, 2026, following a digital release earlier that year. The series is also available digitally via the MANGA Plus app.
