At the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival 2026 held in Tokyo, Square Enix announced that the Evercold expansion will officially debut on February 23, 2027. Players who pre-order the expansion, starting November 4, 2026, will gain access to the content beginning February 19. This schedule represents a shift from the previously discussed January 2027 window. As the inaugural entry in the 'Godless Realms' saga, the expansion transports players to the Fourth reflection of the Source. New content includes the Bastion and Zephyr jobs, with the latter serving as a ranged DPS class. Exploration areas such as 'Sessrymnir, Realmship of Earth' and 'SkiΓ°blaΓ°nir, Realmship of Wind' will be added alongside system updates, including a shift toward weekly rather than daily activity structures. Beyond core gameplay, the expansion features an eight-player crossover raid series with Final Fantasy VII Remake titled 'Beyond the Lifestream: Fated Collision,' which debuts a high-tier 'Fierce' difficulty. Additionally, a collaboration with the Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise, 'Ghosts of Desire,' will involve guest creator Mahiro Maeda. These announcements coincide with the developer's milestone of 35 million registered accounts.
