Production staff for the upcoming Sōkō Kihei Votoms Haiiro no Hexe films have released a new visual and trailer, confirming the project's debut date and musical direction. The first installment is set to arrive in Japanese theaters on November 20. The promotional materials feature the theme song "Na mo Naki Shijin no Yō ni," performed by Mika Nakashima and crafted by THE ALFEE member Toshihiko Takamizawa.
Directed by Mamoru Oshii, the films continue the legacy of the 1983 Armored Trooper Votoms series, a cornerstone of the "real robot" genre. Franchise creator Ryōsuke Takahashi is overseeing the production, which features mechanical designs from Shinobu Tsuneki and Yoshiro Sōno. The voice cast includes Miyuki Sawashiro in the role of the feared pilot Ash Vamps and Mabuki Andou as the investigator Maki Stauffenberg, supported by a large ensemble including Shinichirō Miki, Yūki Kaji, and Yūichi Nakamura.
This project marks the return of the franchise following a significant gap in new animated content, with the previous entry, Alone Again, having released in 2011.
