The webtoon and manga platform Manta, operated by RIDI, announced plans to expand its service to independent creators starting November 16. This initiative introduces a dedicated section where creators can manage profiles, upload episodes, and engage with readers. While existing Manta content remains unaffected, the company stated it intends to eventually integrate select independent titles into its official lineup. In a separate development, Manta launched the "Move Your Bookshelf" (MYB) program on October 9 to assist readers affected by the upcoming closure of the Tapas platform. Tapas, which is set to cease operations on March 31, 2027, previously stated that content could not be transferred to other services. Under Manta's program, users who purchased at least 10 episodes of an eligible series on Tapas can apply to have those episodes added to their Manta library by submitting a screen recording of their purchase history. Additionally, Manta debuted its first "Global Release" series, From the Burnt Ashes by Jeung-ji Ma, on October 5, which features simultaneous serialization on both Manta and RIDI.
