The long-running sports romance series Blue Box (Ao no Hako) has officially reached its conclusion. Kouji Miura’s manga wrapped up its five-year run in the 33rd issue of Weekly Shonen Jump this Monday, closing the story with its 250th chapter. The series, which originated as a one-shot in 2020 before beginning its full serialization in April 2021, leaves behind a significant legacy in the magazine’s recent history.

While the serialization has finished, readers still have physical volumes to look forward to. Shueisha recently released the 26th volume on July 3, with the 27th volume slated for October 2. The final 28th volume is currently scheduled to hit shelves on December 4. In English-speaking territories, Viz Media continues to handle the print release, with the 21st volume arriving this August.

The franchise remains active beyond the printed page. While Telecom Animation Film handled the first season of the anime adaptation, the upcoming second season, produced by Electric Circus, is set to premiere on TBS on October 4. With the manga's conclusion, viewers can expect the second season to bring the high-stakes badminton and basketball drama of Taiki and Chinatsu to a new turning point.
