South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) organized a significant international enforcement conference in Seoul on June 9, aiming to bolster global collaboration against copyright infringement affecting Korean content. The "2026 International Copyright Protection Enforcement Conference" saw representatives from law enforcement agencies in Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and the Netherlands convene with Interpol and U.S. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Korea.

Korean authorities, including the Ministry of Justice, prosecutors, and police, also participated. The meeting provided a platform for sharing effective enforcement strategies and planning coordinated operations to identify and apprehend individuals committing copyright offenses abroad. Key industry players such as Naver WEBTOON and Kakao Entertainment were also present, highlighting the private sector's role in combating piracy.

Discussions delved into ongoing international investigations, particularly those under Interpol's "Stop Online Piracy" (I-SOP) initiative, and explored avenues for enhanced public-private partnerships. The MCST stressed the necessity of unified global action against cross-border copyright crimes and committed to reinforcing its investigative network with international allies.
