The Crunchyroll Store has undergone a significant transformation, removing all physical manga and light novels from its retail listings as of this week. The platform, which previously absorbed the inventory of the specialized retailer Right Stuf following its 2022 acquisition, has also pulled all Korean manhwa and Chinese danmei titles from its shelves. When approached for comment regarding the shift in inventory, the company declined to provide further clarification.

This change aligns with the platform's recent transition to a subscription-gated model. Access to the store is now restricted exclusively to users subscribed to the Mega Fan and Ultimate Fan tiers. The revamped storefront is pivoting its focus toward curated merchandise drops, exclusive apparel, and select collectibles and home video releases. While the store no longer offers these print titles, the company maintains its digital presence in the medium through its dedicated Crunchyroll Manga app, which launched in North America last year.

Existing customers with pending orders should not be impacted, as the company confirmed that all open orders will continue to be processed and shipped. However, the store-wide discount benefits previously afforded to high-tier subscribers were sunset on August 14. This move follows a period of organizational restructuring and evolving e-commerce strategies for the Sony-owned venture, which has increasingly prioritized its subscription-based streaming ecosystem over traditional retail distribution.
