Digital manga platform Comikey has announced a significant expansion of its library through a new partnership with publisher Hakusensha. The initiative focuses on bringing a variety of shōjo manga to English-speaking audiences, including several titles that have never received an official translation. The first release under this agreement is sora's Tsuiraku JK to Haijin Kyōshi (Crashout Schoolgirl and Degen Teacher), with the first seven chapters currently available for readers.
While the company has yet to confirm the full list of incoming series, promotional materials suggest a deep dive into the publisher's extensive back catalog. Teased titles include long-running favorites such as Gakuen Babysitters, Kōcha Ōji, and Ōkami-Heika no Hanayome. This expansion builds on a previous collaborative effort between the two companies that began in 2021, further solidifying Comikey’s position as a major distributor for Japanese publishers like Shogakukan and Shinchosha.
Comikey continues to utilize its signature 'Key' currency model, which allows users to unlock specific chapters on demand. To lower the barrier for new readers, the platform provides free access to the first and most recent chapters of each series, incentivizing users to sample new genres. This latest update follows a busy August for the platform, which also saw the addition of titles like Shut Up, Takamori! and The Princess Groom.
