The planned manga adaptation of Rou Bao Bu Chi Rouβs hit novel series The Husky and His White Cat Shizun has been indefinitely suspended. Libre Publishing issued the announcement on Wednesday, shortly after artist Ayano Yamane publicly withdrew from the project. Yamane issued an apology for previous social media activity that prompted significant backlash from readers, who raised concerns regarding her past comments.
The project had only been announced by Libre Publishing this past Monday, with a debut scheduled for the December issue of Be-Boy Gold magazine. The print release was set for October 28, followed by a digital launch on November 19, but these plans have now been scrapped entirely following the controversy.
Yamane is a veteran of the boys-love genre, best known for long-running titles such as Crimson Spell and Finder. While her work has maintained a significant presence in the North American market through publishers like SuBLime, this latest development marks a sudden halt to her involvement with the high-profile The Husky and His White Cat Shizun franchise.
