The Uta no Princess-sama franchise has officially scrapped plans for its upcoming third-anniversary concert. Management issued a brief statement on the project's official website last Saturday, attributing the decision to "various circumstances" without providing further details regarding the production hurdles.

While the event was initially teased in December, the organizers had not yet secured a venue or set a specific date for the performance. The concert was intended to celebrate the project's three-year run, which began in March 2023 as the female counterpart to the long-running Uta no Prince-sama multimedia series.

Uta no Princess-sama centers on the students of St. Saotome Girls' Academy, featuring the idol trios Flower Candy and Silent Queen. The narrative hook follows these performers as they are thrust into a time-traveling adventure. This cancellation marks a setback for the relatively young franchise, which has sought to replicate the massive success of its predecessor, the Uta no Prince-sama series, which spans over a decade of anime seasons and theatrical films.
