Manga artist Ken Ogino, known for The Ossan Newbie Adventurer, shared recollections of his experience with Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, detailing the editorial demands for his 2015 series Lady Justice. Ogino explained that when developing the manga with a female superhero lead, editors informed him that publication was contingent on a focus on erotic content.

Responding to a fan's comment about the series' launch, Ogino clarified that his original concept was "American comics, made in Japan," with a "moe" sensibility, aiming for a "tough female hero." He intended the erotic elements to be a minor addition, but editors insisted, stating, "If the protagonist is female, we won't publish it unless it focuses on eroticism," leading him to reluctantly incorporate the requested themes.

Ogino expressed envy for current creators who can feature female protagonists in Jump without such stipulations. He also corrected the perception that Lady Justice was intended as a rival to My Hero Academia, noting that the one-shot ran before My Hero Academia's serialization began, and its start during his own series' draft phase was a coincidence.

Lady Justice serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from May to September 2015, with Shueisha releasing two collected volumes. Ogino is currently illustrating The Ossan Newbie Adventurer.
