Agent Kim: Reactivated, the live-action adaptation of the popular webtoon Manager Kim, has reached a technical milestone by utilizing a fully AI-generated story sequence. Produced by Morpheus Studio, the three-minute segment appears across the series' first two episodes and marks the first time a Korean drama has replaced traditional filming with entirely AI-synthesized footage.

The sequence focuses on the protagonist's past as a North Korean covert operative, illustrating his high-stakes missions prior to the main narrative. The AI-generated content includes complex action choreography, such as large-scale explosions, underwater combat, high-speed car chases, and intricate gunfights. By opting for this AI approach, the production team bypassed the significant budget requirements typically associated with such elaborate practical sets and heavy visual effects work.

This series is a key entry in a shared webtoon universe that includes titles like Lookism, Viral Hit, and My Life as a Loser. Following its successful serialization on the WEBTOON platform from 2021 to 2025, the live-action adaptation arrived on Netflix on June 26. The integration of this technology highlights a shift in how production houses are experimenting with AI to handle action-heavy source material on a limited budget.
