Sega has unveiled a new character, Lionel Rafale, for its upcoming title Virtua Fighter Crossroads. According to the company, Rafale is a mysterious martial artist who arrives in the city of Vilasapara and possesses skills capable of outclassing the character Cielo. The game, which is slated for a 2027 release, marks a shift for the franchise by moving toward a narrative-driven action-adventure structure rather than a traditional competitive fighting game format. Players will navigate an omnibus narrative featuring four distinct protagonists, with choices impacting alliances and story outcomes. The production features a notable creative team, including world building supervisor David Hayter and lead writer Brad Kayne, alongside scenario writers Tsuyoshi Furuta and Shinji Yamamoto.
