A manga adaptation of Tsukikage's The King of the Dead at the Dark Palace light novels has officially debuted. The new series, illustrated by Meguri (artist for the Ishura manga), began serialization on April 7 via Square Enix's Gangan Online platform. Meguri's involvement was confirmed in the May issue of Square Enix's Shonen Gangan magazine.

The King of the Dead at the Dark Palace light novels, written by Tsukikage and illustrated by Merontomari, were first serialized as a web novel in April 2019 on Shōsetsu ni Narō. Kadokawa published the first print volume in November 2019. Yen Press handles the English release of the novels, describing the plot as centering on a sickly boy who awakens as an undead creature named End. While initially pleased with his new, functional body, he quickly finds himself bound to the powerful necromancer who revived him, setting him on a path to achieve true freedom.

This is not the first manga adaptation for Tsukikage. Their other series, Let This Grieving Soul Retire!, also received a manga adaptation by Rai Hebino, which launched on Kadokawa's ComicWalker website in April 2019. The Let This Grieving Soul Retire! manga has reached its 12th compiled volume, with Yen Press releasing the 10th volume in English on February 10. The light novel for this series is also published by Yen Press in English, with J-Novel Club having taken over the license in July 2022.
