The latest issue of Square Enix’s Monthly G Fantasy has brought the Invasion Arc manga to a close. Artist Hazumi Takeda, who has been responsible for several adaptations within the expansive The Irregular at Magic High School franchise, wrapped up the series based on the 26th volume of Tsutomu Satou’s original light novels this week.
Fans won't have to wait long for the narrative to continue, as the magazine confirmed that Takeda will return next month to launch the Future Arc manga. This upcoming adaptation will tackle the 31st volume of the light novel series, which originally debuted in Japan in April 2020. While the franchise has seen numerous manga adaptations—such as the recent Master Clans Council Arc and Masaki Ichijō Transfers Schools Arc—the transition into the Future Arc marks another major milestone in bringing the later portions of the story to the page.
This ongoing manga output continues to support a franchise that remains a staple of the urban fantasy genre. Since the original 2014 anime adaptation by Madhouse—which holds a 7.36 rating on MyAnimeList from over 620,000 users—the series has grown into a massive multimedia project. With the recent premiere of the third season earlier this year and the theatrical release of the Yotsuba Succession Arc film, the Future Arc manga serves as a key piece of supplementary material for those following Tatsuya Shiba’s journey beyond the core animated entries.
