Star Wars: Visions Presents - The Ninth Jedi has released its final trailer, offering a glimpse into the expanded narrative of one of the anthology’s most celebrated shorts. The footage is available in both English and Japanese, highlighting the return of the iconic lightsaber-centric aesthetic that defined the original 2021 short.
This limited series marks a shift for the Star Wars: Visions project, transitioning from standalone shorts to a long-form storytelling format. Kenji Kamiyama, who helmed the original short, returns to oversee the production as supervising director and script supervisor, while Shunsuke Tada takes the lead as director. The production is bolstered by executive producers Jacqui Lopez and Josh Rimes at Lucasfilm.
The voice cast features a mix of returning talent and new additions, with Chinatsu Akasaki reprising her role as Lah Kara. Other returning cast members include Shinichirō Miki as Lah Zhima and Akio Ōtsuka as the Narrator. The series follows the events established in the original short and recent developments seen in the third volume of the anthology, which debuted in October 2025.
As a direct expansion of the franchise's exploration of anime-inspired storytelling, this project follows the global success of the previous three volumes. With a blend of action, sci-fi, and military drama, the series arrives on Disney+ and Hulu this Wednesday.
