Screenwriter Arne Olsen, best known for his work on the 1995 film Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie, has died at the age of 64. His wife confirmed to Deadline that Olsen passed away on Saturday due to complications from cancer.

Beyond the iconic Power Rangers film, Olsen's writing credits include the 1995 action film Red Scorpion, the animated sequel All Dogs Go to Heaven 2, and the 2007 horror movie Distorted. He also earned a LEO Award nomination for Best Screenplay in 2011 for the film Repeaters.

Olsen also had a presence in front of the camera, appearing in films like 2000's Here's to Life! and 1994's Final Round. His career extended into education, having taught screenwriting at Capilano University and the Vancouver Film School. He also served as president of Brick Road Productions from 1987 until his passing.
