Manga Mavericks Books and the digital publisher Omoi have announced a joint license for the classic manga Georgie (Georgie!), created by Man Izawa and Yumiko Igarashi. The series, which was originally serialized in Shogakukan's Sho-Comi magazine between 1982 and 1984, follows a young woman living in the Australian countryside who embarks on a journey to England after meeting a noble named Lowell. The manga previously inspired a 1983 anime adaptation titled Lady Georgie. According to the announcement, Omoi plans to release the title digitally in spring 2027, followed by a print edition from Manga Mavericks Books in August 2027. This marks a new acquisition for Manga Mavericks Books, a publishing division established in April 2025, and Omoi, a digital platform that rebranded from its former name, Azuki, in November 2025.
