The live-action adaptation of Satoru Noda's Golden Kamuy manga will expand with a new series titled Golden Kamuy: Karafuto Pursuit Arc (Golden Kamuy: Karafuto Tsuiseki-hen). According to the announcement, the series is set to begin streaming on WOWOW on January 24 at 10:00 p.m.
Production for the new arc sees the return of director Kenji Katagiri, who will work alongside new director Masaaki Yoshimura. The script is being written by Tetsuo Kamata, known for his work on the live-action BLUE LOCK film. Returning staff include composers Yutaka Yamada and Yoshiaki Dewa, as well as Ainu language and cultural advisers Hiroshi Nakagawa and Debo Akibe. The series is produced by CREDEUS.
This project follows a series of live-action adaptations based on the manga, which concluded its original serialization in 2022. The franchise previously saw the release of a 2024 feature film, the Golden Kamuy -The Hunt of Prisoners in Hokkaido- series, and the second feature film, Golden Kamuy: Attack on Abashiri Prison, which premiered in March 2026.
