Square Enix has unveiled a new trailer for Final Fantasy Resonance, showcasing the upcoming console-quality RPG that brings the first story arc of the defunct Final Fantasy Brave Exvius to home platforms. The footage highlights the project’s transition into the publisher's signature HD-2D visual style, offering a modern aesthetic for the Kingdom of Grandshelt and the central conflict against Veritas of the Dark.

The title is scheduled for a multi-platform release on October 22, arriving on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store. Digital and physical pre-orders are currently live, with a Collector’s Edition available that includes a physical artbook, the game's soundtrack, and a promotional card for the Final Fantasy Trading Card Game.

Narratively, the game follows knights Rain and Lasswell as they attempt to protect the world's crystals after a crushing defeat at the hands of the armored antagonist. The bilingual voice cast features heavy hitters such as Nobuhiko Okamoto and Clifford Chapin as Rain, alongside Yūsuke Kobayashi and Alejandro Saab as Lasswell. Akane Fujita and Lizzie Freeman provide the voice for Fina, the mysterious companion who joins the duo on their journey.

This release serves as a preservation effort for the Final Fantasy Brave Exvius universe following the conclusion of its mobile service. By shifting the narrative into a standalone, offline console experience, Square Enix continues its strategy of adapting mobile-exclusive stories into premium RPGs, mirroring the development approach previously seen with the console iteration of Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent.
