Frontier Works has unveiled details for the television anime adaptation of Rokuro Uraji's Zombie no Afureta Sekai de Ore dake ga Osowarenai. The supernatural horror series, featuring zombie themes, is now scheduled to premiere in January 2027 on AT-X, a shift from its initial 2026 window. A teaser promotional video and visual offer a first glimpse at the upcoming show.
Wataru Katou, known for his role in 'Kimi no Koto ga Daidaidaidaidaisuki na 100-nin no Kanojo', is set to voice Yuusuke Takemura. Yuno Azuma, from 'Kimi to Koete Koi Naru', will portray Mitsuki Fujino. Leading the production is director Kazuya Fujishiro, with series composition handled by Yasushi Hirano. Yoshiharu Ishihara serves as character designer, and Tadashi Jinbo is the sound director. Mihoshi is in charge of sound production, ISAO composes the music, and the animation is a collaboration between Acca effe and Frontier Engine.
The original light novel began its web serialization in January 2013 before being published by Frontier Works' Nox Novels label starting in February 2016. A manga adaptation by Chihiro Matsuda launched in March 2022 and is currently available digitally via NTT Solmare's MangaPlaza service.
The story centers on Yuusuke, an office worker who becomes a recluse after his company's bankruptcy. His solitary existence is disrupted when he is attacked and bitten, seemingly becoming the only one unaffected by a zombie outbreak.
