The production team for the upcoming television anime Even Though She's a Timid Young Lady to the Max, She Agreed to Her Shrewd Fiancé's Bet has announced that Shizuka Ishigami will join the cast, providing the voice for the younger version of Rufus Stan. To commemorate the announcement, Kadokawa released a new promotional "visual video" featuring an original voice drama titled "Aru Natsu no Hi no Futari."
Set for an October debut, the series follows Pia Rockwell, a graduate student reincarnated into the role of a minor villainess within an otome game. Fearing her pre-destined banishment, she attempts to preemptively break her engagement to the prime minister's son, Rufus Stan. However, her plan backfires when the request only serves to intrigue him, leading to a high-stakes bet that will determine their future over the next seven years.
The project features an ensemble cast including Miku Itō as Pia, Ryōta Ōsaka as Rufus, Rina Hidaka as Caroline Ramsey, Sora Amamiya as Erin White, and Haruki Ishiya as Henry Cox. The production is helmed by director Nobuaki Nakanishi at studio Jumondo, with Hiroko Fukuda handling series composition and Moe Hyūga and Natsuki Hamada co-composing the score.
Originating as a web novel on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō platform in 2020, the story has since expanded into a successful light novel series published by Kadokawa and a manga adaptation by Aji Murata. With over 1.2 million copies currently in circulation, the franchise continues to build momentum ahead of its fall television launch.
