The second cour of Yoroi-Shinden Samurai Troopers, the new anime sequel to the classic Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, is set to premiere on July 7. A recently released promotional video offers a glimpse of the anime's new ending theme song, titled "Bakemon," performed by karanoah. Dannie May will perform the new opening theme, "Bad Idenshi."
The sequel introduces several new voice actors to its cast. Tomoaki Maeno joins as Gomei, Aya Endō as Shimei, Hiroshi Shirokuma as Gaimei, Maaya Sakamoto as Yashimanosagume, and Takehito Koyasu as Inmei. The series, directed by Yōichi Fujita at Sunrise, continues the story of five boys who don Yoroi Gear samurai armor to battle a demon emperor.
Yoroi-Shinden Samurai Troopers premiered in January and is available for streaming on Crunchyroll, U-NEXT, Anime Hōdai, and d Anime Store. The original Yoroiden Samurai Troopers anime, created by Sunrise, originally aired in 1988-1989 and was broadcast in the United States as Ronin Warriors. Discotek Media has released the original series and its OVA follow-ups on DVD.
