Yen Press has bolstered its upcoming publishing slate with a trio of new acquisitions. The publisher confirmed the licensing of two light novel series, Let's Begin, a Battle Without the Hero and The Weakling Who Died a Million Times, both slated for release under their Yen On imprint. Additionally, the company added the manga The Dragon Prince's Ill-Mated Betrothal to its roster.
Leading the light novel announcements is Let's Begin, a Battle Without the Hero, a series penned by Taiga Hattori with illustrations by Rin Kawachi. The story follows Tsugumichi Takahashi, a shut-in forced to take up the mantle of a hero after the death of the legendary Akane Kohinata. The narrative centers on his unlikely transition from a complete novice to a savior, tasking him with inheriting the legacy of a character defined by her selflessness and combat prowess.
Beyond these print acquisitions, the company is expanding its Yen Audio catalog. The publisher plans to release an audiobook version of the novel adaptation of Mamoru Hosodaโs acclaimed film Wolf Children: Ame & Yuki. This move continues the publisher's strategy of diversifying its formats, bringing fan-favorite stories to listeners alongside its traditional physical and digital book offerings.
