During its panel at New York Comic Con this past Friday, Yen Press unveiled its latest acquisition, the light novel series The Girls Adrift Among the Stars. Written by Yuiko Agarizaki with illustrations by Fuwan Sono, the series follows an eccentric pair of refugees searching for a new home after Earth becomes uninhabitable.

The story centers on Ridley, a scientist who designed a spaceship fashioned to resemble a horse-drawn carriage, and Watari, a shy but skilled martial artist. The duo travels through space, encountering a variety of bizarre planets—ranging from worlds governed by gods who can revive the dead to civilizations defined by endless libraries—as they attempt to find a stable planet to settle on.

This announcement adds to the publisher's growing catalog of science-fiction and character-driven narratives. While the acquisition confirms the title's arrival in English, Yen Press has not yet provided a specific release date or window for the first volume.
