The A Wild Last Boss Appeared! (Yasei no Last Boss ga Arawareta!) franchise is returning for its second season in October 2026. The production team confirmed the return with a new promotional video, which offers a first look at the upcoming action and features the opening theme song, "Melodic Impact" by the rock band Suspended 4th.
Expanding the roster for the new season, seven additional voice actors have joined the project. The additions include Ryouta Suzuki as Karkinos, Chiaki Takahashi as Scorpius, Takahiro Sakurai as Castor, Shinpachi Tsuji as Mizal, Momoko Seto as Mass Production Libra, Yuuichirou Umehara as Terra, and Mao Ichimichi as Luna. These characters join a production led by returning director Yuuya Horiuchi and studio WAO World, with series composition by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu.
Following the 12-episode debut in Fall 2025, which holds a respectable 7.47 rating on MyAnimeList from over 50,000 voters, the series continues to adapt Firehead’s completed nine-volume light novel series. The story, known for its unique blend of gender-bending, virtual world tropes, and demon-war fantasy, has maintained a steady following since the original web novel launched in 2015.
Beyond the main light novel, the franchise remains active through Tsubasa Hazuki’s ongoing manga adaptation, which recently released its 11th volume. With J-Novel Club handling the English digital releases for both the original novels and the manga, international fans have multiple ways to engage with the source material while waiting for the October 2026 broadcast.
