Yang Can't Live Alone (Yang-senpai wa Hitori de Ikiteikenai), the romantic comedy series by creator sooncha, is coming to an abrupt end. The author announced via social media that the series will conclude on Square Enix’s Manga UP! platform on August 13, citing a significant breakdown in their professional relationship with the publisher as the primary cause for the cancellation.

Despite the sudden termination, the third compiled volume of the manga is still slated to ship on August 6. However, sooncha has publicly advised readers who feel uncomfortable with the circumstances surrounding the series' end to cancel their pre-orders for this upcoming release. The author is currently in discussions with the editorial department to secure a transfer of copyright, which would allow the story to continue through alternative, independent means.

Launched in December 2024, the series followed the burgeoning relationship between Yuu, a hardworking and serious college student, and Yang, a friendly international student who enlists her as his bodyguard. The title was also slated for an English-language release via Square Enix Manga & Books, with the first volume previously scheduled for September 15. The future of these international releases remains uncertain as the creator navigates these ongoing negotiations with the publisher.
