Fuji TV has confirmed that Can You Kiss Me First? (Omae no Hou kara Kiss Shitekure yo), the boys' love manga by Yamayade, is being adapted into a live-action television series. The show is slated for a fall premiere and will be available for streaming via Fuji TV On Demand.

The series features Jin Suzuki, known for his roles in the live-action Kimi ni Todoke and Teasing Master Takagi-san, as the stoic accountant Ueno. He will star alongside Gaku Oshida, who plays the charismatic sales superstar Kanda. Behind the camera, Meigetsu Takahashi takes on directing duties, working from scripts penned by Emi Amamoto, while the musical score is composed by Nobuhiro Tateno and Ami Yamashita.

Originally serialized on Renta! between March 2023 and April 2024, the story follows the complex dynamic between two office opposites. While Ueno is a rigid accountant and Kanda is a popular, outgoing sales lead, the two share a secret closeness outside of their professional lives. Their relationship hits a turning point when Ueno reveals his sexuality, sparking a series of complicated emotional hurdles as they navigate their growing feelings for one another.

For those looking to explore the source material ahead of the broadcast, Seven Seas Entertainment has acquired the license for the manga and is set to begin its English-language release this September.
