Hideo Kojima’s upcoming action-espionage project, Physint, has secured a new publisher. Following a notice from Sony Interactive Entertainment in mid-June regarding the cancellation of their involvement, Kojima Productions spent three months searching for a new partner before finalizing an agreement with Xbox Game Studios.
Despite the transition, the project’s core details remain intact, including a confirmed cast featuring Australian actress Charlee Fraser, Korean-American actor Don Lee, and Japanese actress Minami Hamabe. The game is currently in the early planning stages, as Kojima Productions continues to prioritize the development of its horror title, OD KNOCK, which is also being produced in collaboration with Xbox Game Studios.
This move strengthens the ongoing partnership between Kojima and Microsoft. While the industry monitors how this shift affects the development timeline, the broader Kojima franchise continues to expand into other media. The Death Stranding universe, for instance, is currently slated for a live-action film directed by Michael Sarnoski, an adult animated feature titled DEATH STRANDING MOSQUITO, and an anime series, Death Stranding Isolations, which is scheduled to debut on Disney+ in 2027.
