The culinary-themed manga Foodies, written by Tadashi Agi and illustrated by Jun Nakanishi, has officially concluded. Kodansha published the final chapter of the series on its Comic Days web platform on September 16, with the concluding installment scheduled to become free for all readers starting September 30.

Launched in August 2025, the series followed Takumi Itadaki, the grandson of a legendary chef, as he navigated a high-stakes corporate competition. Tasked with launching a gourmet review website, Takumi found himself in a fierce recruitment battle against a major food company, Tenshoku, to secure the best food critics in the industry. The manga featured research cooperation from Shokichi and spanned four compiled volumes, the latest of which hit shelves this past July.

Tadashi Agi is a well-known pen name for the prolific writer Shin Kibayashi and his sister, Yuko Kibayashi. The duo is perhaps most recognized for the long-running wine-focused series Drops of God, which has seen significant international reach through a multilingual live-action adaptation on Apple TV+ and a recent television anime series that premiered in April 2026.

Given the creative team's extensive history with food-centric storytelling, the conclusion of Foodies marks the end of a relatively brief but focused project. With the series now complete, readers interested in the broader works of Shin Kibayashi have a dense catalog to explore, including the upcoming 2027 anime adaptation of The Gifted, which he authored under the pseudonym Seimaru Amagi.
