Writer Ichiha Hiiragi and artist mimita are set to debut their new manga, Kanade-kun no Shugorei Yarimasu! (I'll Be Kanade-kun's Guardian Spirit!), on Shogakukan's Manga ONE service on July 15. Hiiragi shared the news, revealing that the manga concept has been in development for roughly three to four years, though its launch was postponed due to an accident.

The story centers on Iroha, a high school student who is content with becoming a ghost if it means she can serve as the guardian spirit for Kanade-kun, a pianist she deeply admires.

Hiiragi has been active in the manga industry with several recent works. Their collaboration with artist Nagi ÅŒkawa, Playing the Vixen to Find Happiness, began serialization on Kodansha's Palcy service in November 2024, with its fourth compiled volume released on May 29. This title is also available in English on Kodansha's K MANGA service.

Additionally, Hiiragi’s On Her 94th Reincarnation, This Villainess Became the Heroine!, adapted by Touka Takauchi, ran on Manga ONE from January 2021 to September 2022 and is published digitally in English by Comikey. Hiiragi’s novels have also seen manga adaptations, including The Emperor's Caretaker: I'm Too Happy Living as a Lady-in-Waiting to Leave the Palace (illustrated by Haruki Yoshimura on Manga UP! Global) and The Useless Saint and the Cursed Holy Knight: A Whimsical Confession Turned Proposal & Devotion (adapted by Nagi Ōkawa, published on K MANGA).
