Aoki Denshō Welsh & Shedar (The Azure Legend: Welsh & Shedar) is expanding its reach beyond Japanese television. French entertainment company Ankama announced that the series will be available for free on its new Krosmoz YouTube channel starting in early November. The rollout begins with the first two episodes, followed by a bi-weekly release schedule for subsequent installments.
The YouTube release will feature a robust suite of language options, including dubs in English, Japanese, and French, alongside Spanish and Portuguese subtitles. The series, which follows the intertwined fates of a country boy named Welsh and a prince named Shedar as they oppose a world-conquering tyrant, recently premiered on Tokyo MX.
The production is helmed by director Naoki Horiuchi at Studio Massket, with character designs by Saori Nakashiki. The voice cast includes Rikuya Yasuda as Welsh and Yūki Kaji as Shedar, supported by Yūko Kaida, Makoto Furukawa, and Wataru Takagi. The series also features a musical lineup headlined by Hironobu Kageyama and Masami Okui.
While Ankama is best known for the long-running DOFUS MMORPG, this project represents a move into international anime distribution. With the series already airing in Japan, the bi-weekly YouTube schedule provides a clear window for viewers to follow the fantasy epic.
