The popular WEBTOON series ShootAround is set for a live-action young adult film adaptation, Variety reports. Lion Forge Entertainment and WEBTOON Productions are collaborating on the project.
Aiyana K. White, known for her work on "Severance" and "The Night Agent," has been tapped to write the screenplay. The original webcomic, created by Susanna Nousiainen (Suspu), has garnered significant attention, amassing over 28 million views on the WEBTOON platform.
ShootAround centers on a high school basketball team whose practice is interrupted by a zombie apocalypse. The story follows coach Jeff as he struggles to adapt to the new world, while the female players embrace the challenges with resilience. Lion Forge will finance the script, with David Steward II and Stephanie Sperber attached as producers. David Madden and Jason Goldberg will executive produce for WEBTOON.
