WEBTOON and Paramount Products & Experiences have launched two original webcomic series, Stargazers and Recollection, expanding the beloved Star Trek universe exclusively on WEBTOON's English-language platform. This initiative is part of a larger collaboration announced last September to celebrate the franchise's 60th anniversary by bringing Star Trek into the digital comic space.

Stargazers, which debuted Sunday, is a young adult romance centered on life aboard Deep Space 9. The story follows Leon, a recent graduate navigating identity, friendship, and first love in a post-war galaxy, alongside his friends and a loyal dog. The narrative, written by Jarrett Melendez with art by Kisai Entertainment, also involves the group uncovering a station-wide conspiracy. The series draws inspiration from established Star Trek lore, particularly Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Scheduled for release later this summer, Recollection offers a different tone, focusing on mystery and psychological suspense. It begins with a young woman waking up on a Federation starship with amnesia, only to find others in the same predicament. As fragmented memories return, the crew discovers they are wanted criminals, prompting a deep dive into themes of identity, morality, and redemption. Sam Maggs penned the script for Recollection, with art also provided by Kisai Entertainment. This series is inspired by shows like Star Trek: Voyager.

These new webcomics represent WEBTOON's strategy to integrate globally recognized intellectual properties into its signature vertical-scroll format, offering fresh narratives within established canons.
