South Korean broadcaster tvN has announced that its new live-action series, Back to Work!, will premiere on June 22. The show adapts a popular webtoon of the same name from McQueen Studio, which has garnered over 200 million views across its serialization from 2021 to 2024.
The 12-episode drama centers on Ji-yoon Cha, a seventh-year office employee feeling stagnant in her career and love life. The narrative explores her developing relationship with her difficult supervisor, Si-woo Kang, blending romantic elements with realistic workplace dynamics. The story aims to portray an relatable yet "heart-fluttering" office environment.
The webtoon's synopsis describes Jiyoon Cha as a woman in her 30s navigating career dissatisfaction and romantic pressures, with potential suitors including her aloof boss and an immature ex-boyfriend. The series promises a grounded look at office life, with the webtoon available in English on the Tapas platform.
A teaser trailer and promotional posters for the upcoming series have also been released by tvN. Source: TV Report (Jang-won Huh)
