Kodansha has confirmed that Mii-chan to Yamada-san by Nene Azuki is coming to an end. The drama series, which has enjoyed a two-year run on the Magazine Pocket app, concluded its serialization with the release of its 37th chapter. Fans can expect the final seventh volume to hit shelves on September 9.
Since its debut in September 2024, the series has garnered significant acclaim, boasting 3 million copies in circulation. Its cultural impact is evident, having secured a fourth-place ranking in the Male Readers' Top 20 of the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2026 and a nomination in the General category at the 50th Kodansha Manga Awards. International readers won't have to wait long to experience the story, as Seven Seas Entertainment is set to launch the English version of the first volume on December 8.
Beyond the manga's conclusion, the franchise is slated for further expansion. A television anime adaptation is currently in production, with a premiere window locked for 2027. The series follows the poignant and complex dynamic between Yamada, a university student working in the Shinjuku nightlife industry, and Mii-chan, a clumsy but spirited woman who unexpectedly transforms Yamada's perspective on her career and life.
