The latest promotional trailer for the upcoming anime film We Are Aliens (Ware Ware wa Uchūjin) has arrived, shifting the spotlight onto the heroine, Konatsu. The new footage, accompanied by a fresh key visual, offers a deeper look at the character voiced by Sakurazaka46 member Ten Yamasaki. The film, which explores the fractured friendship between two boys named Tsubasa and Gyōtarō, is set to hit Japanese theaters on September 25.

Director Kōhei Kadowaki has taken a comprehensive role in the project, serving as the film's planner, scriptwriter, storyboard artist, and editor. The production is a collaborative effort between the Japanese studio NOTHING NEW and the French animation house Miyu Productions, known for their work on Ghost Cat Anzu. The film’s musical landscape is crafted by producer Yaffle, with the theme song "Sasakure" performed by adieu.

Beyond its domestic debut, the film has already established a significant international festival presence, having screened at the Cannes Film Festival’s Directors' Fortnight and the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. Following its Japanese release, the film is slated for a screening at the 31st Busan International Film Festival in October. With international distribution already secured for territories including Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Thailand, the project has garnered notable global interest since its successful crowdfunding campaign concluded earlier this year.
