Nanatsu Mukunoki, the creator behind the popular slice-of-life series WATATEN!, is set to debut a new manga titled Barikyari JK Mone-senpai (Mone-senpai The Career Woman High Schooler). The series will begin serialization in Ichijinsha's Comic Yuri Hime magazine with its next issue, arriving on July 16.

The new manga is centered on the lives of two adult women: a career-driven office worker and a manga creator, as they navigate their individual paths and challenges. Mukunoki announced the upcoming series on X (formerly Twitter), expressing a desire to create an enjoyable and relaxing manga.

Mukunoki is well-known for their previous work, Watashi ni Tenshi ga Maiorita!, which also ran in Comic Yuri Hime. That series concluded its run in April 2025 after 16 compiled volumes. The WATATEN! manga was adapted into a TV anime that aired in January 2019, with Crunchyroll streaming the series internationally. The franchise later expanded with the Watashi ni Tenshi ga Maiorita! Precious Friends anime film, which premiered in Japan in October 2022.
