Voice actor Kenichi Suzumura is making a gradual return to his professional duties, as announced by his talent agency, Intention. Suzumura had stepped away from work in February of this year due to health concerns, with doctors diagnosing adjustment disorder.
Suzumura boasts a prolific career, lending his voice to iconic characters such as Sōgo Okita in Gintama, Shinn Asuka in the Mobile Suit Gundam Seed franchise, and Masato Hijirikawa in Uta no Prince Sama. He also voiced Bravern in Brave Bang Bravern!, for which he received the Singing Award at the 19th Annual Seiyū Awards last March.
Fans can look forward to Suzumura's return in several upcoming projects. He is set to reprise his role as Nezu in the latter half of Yoroi-Shinden Samurai Troopers and will voice Julius Rapha Holfort in the second season of Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs. His recent roles also include Obanai Iguro in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc and Shinichirō Niwa in Dog Signal.
This marks Suzumura's second hiatus due to health issues, having previously taken time off in May 2024 and returning to work two months later. In addition to his acting career, Suzumura is also the founder of the Intention talent agency, established in 2009.
